Collaborate closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), classroom teachers, and other LSAs to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development. Monitor students’ progress, behaviour, and well-being, and provide regular feedback to teachers and SENCO to inform intervention strategies and adjustments to support plans. Encourage independence and self-confidence in students by promoting self-advocacy skills and offering positive reinforcement and encouragement. Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young adults, particularly those with special educational needs, is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students’ individual learning journeys.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic school environment, collaborating with a diverse range of students and staff.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
