Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (TA)
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time
Job Type: Part Time
About the school:
Our school is deeply committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive. Located in the heart of Newham, our school is known for its inclusive and supportive ethos. We pride ourselves on our strong provisions for SEN students, ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or learning challenges, has access to a high-quality education. The school boasts a vibrant, multicultural community where diversity is celebrated, and over 30 languages are spoken. Our experienced staff and leadership team are dedicated to providing an enriching learning experience that helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, your role will be instrumental in supporting boosters and interventions for children who need a bit of extra help. You’ll work closely with the class teachers to assist students with SEN needs and those who are falling behind in their studies, ensuring they stay on track and build their confidence. You’ll also play a vital role in helping students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL), making your experience in this area highly valued.
Your day-to-day duties will include supporting students in small groups or one-on-one settings, assisting with classroom activities, and helping maintain an inclusive, encouraging learning atmosphere. This role is perfect for someone with a nurturing attitude and a passion for helping young learners overcome challenges.
Experience working with KS1 students, particularly those with SEN or EAL needs.
• Support teachers in delivering high-quality education to KS1 students.
• Assist students with mild to moderate SEN needs and those requiring academic interventions.
• Provide tailored support to EAL students, helping them engage fully in the classroom.
• Help plan and implement boosters and interventions for students falling behind.
• At our school, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team dedicated to helping every student succeed. We offer opportunities for ongoing professional development, including training in SEN and EAL support strategies.
As a valued member of our community, you’ll benefit from flexible part-time hours, competitive daily pay, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young children. Additionally, you’ll enjoy working in a vibrant, multicultural school where diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. However, we will keep your CV and continue to help you in your search for a job within education. Teach Now is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Clearance
