Site Reliability Engineer (Splunk)
A global Investment Bank with offices across the UK is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Network and Security team in order to mature the Splunk environment for effective monitoring of network and security threats.
The team you will be joining is responsible for implementing various observability tools with the end goal of keeping their vast network infrastructure highly available, resilient, and secure.
You will be responsible for:- Utilize your skills in Splunk to help design, implement, and configure monitoring solutions for the business.
- Maintain and develop network monitoring, orchestration, and automation solutions.
- Work across teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
- Build API-driven services for seamless integration with other services.
- Automate end-to-end workflows within network infrastructure.
- Identify vulnerabilities and ensure a secure environment.
- Be involved in network configuration validation, network health monitoring, alert handling, and incident remediation.
- Focus on automating processes and developing automated test frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver solutions and ensure project success.
- Strong experience engineering with Splunk.
- Experience writing automation scripts and utilizing orchestration tools such as Ansible, Itential, or similar tools.
- Desirable to have programming or scripting skills with Python experience.
- A good understanding of Network Domain fundamentals and Network Asset and Configuration management processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for multiple ongoing projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
This is a permanent position based in Chester, operating on a hybrid work setup.
