We are currently working in partnership with Local Authority based in the West Midlands , who are recruiting for a Criminal Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis, for an initial 3-months , with potential extension.

Candidates will be required to handle attended hearings in Courts across the West Midlands.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and is offering an hourly rate of circa £50 PAYE.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a varied caseload on Criminal Litigation matters on behalf of the Council
  • Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work
  • Conducting advocacy as required in relation to cases involving trading standards, environmental health and licensing matters

Experience required:

  • Handling criminal litigation and government prosecutions
  • Background within Local Government

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • Attendance required in Courts in the West Midlands
