To take part in the care planning process and provide care for individual clients to meet the objectives of agreed personal care plans. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ________________________________________
- To be aware of the individual needs of clients and respond appropriately to their likes and dislikes.
- To monitor clients' practical and personal needs, which may include clothing, hairdressing and health needs, such as dentistry and chiropody.
- To be aware of clients' emotional needs, provide support in times of distress and assist in maintaining good relationships with relatives, friends and other users of the service.
- To assist with organising and leading activity groups for clients which may focus on educational, leisure or therapeutic themes.
- To write basic information reports and assist the senior staff in maintaining routine administrative systems.
- The role holder needs to be flexible and adaptable at all times as the role involves working with people with challenging complex needs.
- The role holder may be exposed to unpleasant conditions due to the nature of 'personal care'. The work environment may also be noisy.
- Equipment is provided for all manual handling.
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
- NVQ Level 2 in Care.
- LDAF Induction.
- Minimum of two years' experience of working with Learning Disabilities or in older people's services
