Process Engineer (Short-Term Contract: 3-6 Months)

Location: East Midlands

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer for a short-term contract to support our manufacturing assembly cells. The ideal candidate will have experience in low-volume, high-quality manufacturing environments and be proficient in LEAN principles, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and mistake-proofing methodologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and optimize manufacturing assembly processes, focusing on improving efficiency and quality.
  • Implement LEAN manufacturing principles, including VSM and FMEA, to identify and eliminate waste and reduce risks.
  • Design and drive the implementation of CAD layouts for assembly cells, ensuring optimal workflow and material handling.
  • Develop and design jigs, fixtures, tooling, and material handling solutions to support efficient and error-free production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to maintain production flow and meet quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment, particularly in low-volume, high-quality assembly cells - automotive.
  • Strong understanding of LEAN manufacturing, VSM, FMEA, and mistake-proofing techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing layouts and tooling.
  • Ability to design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling for optimized production.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
