Randstad are currently working in collaboration with a rapidly expanding trading business near Luton. This busy, successful and expanding international business are seeking an accounts focused, organised and autonomous Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis to support the smooth running of a busy department.

Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant includes:

  • Supervise daily activities of the finance team and provide support as needed.

  • Daily cash flow and finance utilisation update

  • Manage all payment processing and approvals ensuring procedures are followed and
    terms met.

  • Raise trade finance loans and letters of credit as required. Review position for the
    week on a daily basis and liaise with FD on cash maintenance.

  • Manage all HSBC queries, liaising with the FD and wider finance team as needed.

  • Manage year end audit and preparation of the statutory accounts with support from
    FD

  • Review & Management of VAT and other statutory taxes

  • Review month-end overhead accruals including analysis completed by assistant
    accountant and evaluate variances to be communicated with the month-end pack.

  • Maintain tank/stock schedules throughout the month and prepare and post all
    accruals relating to stock. Liaise with ops/procure teams per the process

  • Maintenance of invoice discounting accounts and monthly reconciliations

  • Fixed Asset, depreciation and amortisation review, journal postings and
    reconciliations

  • Prepare and post monthly journals per journal list

  • Manage and prepare all employed, contracted and oversea staff salary schedules
    and post monthly journals. Manage all payroll queries.

  • Preparation and distribution of the monthly management pack for review by the FD
    and the SMT

  • Weekly and Monthly FX updates and reconciliation

  • Assist with preparation of the 4 month reforecast pack to be distributed monthly

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Production and monitoring of monthly management accounts and variance analysis
    where required.

  • Process improvement implementation and review

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excel - Intermediate
  • Experience of working in a high performing finance team
  • Sage 50 experience
