QIP operates an integrated real estate platform that brings deep understanding and local expertise in real estate country markets to build, develop and operate residential living assets. They actively invest in the UK, US and Japan, and these investments are currently focused on Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), multi-family & co-living rental buildings, Build-to-Rent (BTR) and care homes. QIP is looking to hire a dedicated Development Manager to support our UK development business (QIP DG).

  • This is a full-time UK position with a focus on UK Projects (PBSA & BTR)
  • In the short term this will be a remote working position with arrangements to be made for desk space in central London (1 day a week) until QIP opens their office.
  • It is expected that you will attend project site(s) as needed to achieve a successful project outcome.
  • There will be a requirement to travel to other regional sites on an as needed basis throughout Scotland and England.
  • The position will report directly to the Head of Development.
The role of the Development Manager will be:
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of all assigned UK development projects
  • Maintaining our UK Development Management standards
  • Support the broader QIP team on a task by task basis
  • Ensuring all projects respect the relevant statutory legislation, planning obligations and corporate standards.
The performance of the Development Manager will be measured against:
  • Time – Compliance with the schedule
  • Quality – Compliance with the concept requirements, building permits and design standards
  • Cost – Compliance with the validated budget
  • Health and Safety – Compliance with the local regulation and with QIP standards
The Development Manager shall meet the following requirements:
  • Education - an architecture, engineering or construction degree, and/or relevant experience
  • Experience - have a minimum of 10 years design & construction experience with one new build in residential or student accommodation
  • Competencies
