Senior Commercial IT Account Manager - Public Sector Tech

Location : Nottingham, UK

Salary & Package: Starting at £70,000, with bonuses, incentives, and a plethora of perks.

Contract Type: Full time, initially office based with a transition to hybrid working after the probation period.

We are delighted to partner with an industry leader setting up its UK headquarters in Nottingham, to offer a truly unique opportunity for a Senior Commercial IT Account Manager. About the Role:

The appointed Senior Commercial IT Account Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the most prestigious technology delivery project in the public sector, aimed at transforming the passenger experience in transportation. You will be responsible for managing all commercial, legal, and contractual aspects of this extensive project. Your role will involve developing and leading a team focused on customer onboarding, system adoption, order processing, account management, and customer success.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the commercial function from initial quotations and contracts right through to delivery and operations.
  • Directing the commercial team to align with the company’s strategic goals and optimise financial outcomes.
  • Supporting business development by providing strategic insights, evaluating risks, and preparing accurate quotations while ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulations.
  • Managing customer relationships and identifying new growth opportunities.
  • Leading commercial risk management, including the detailed review and negotiation of contracts.
  • Reviewing and executing all contract documents before project commencement and assisting with the creation of tender documentation and contractual change notices.
  • Providing leadership to the commercial team to enhance their potential in alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Ensuring all commercial activities adhere to internal procedures and external legislation governing business operations.
  • Managing the performance and success of customer relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Responsibility for commercial risk management through review procedures and contract negotiations in accordance with company policies.

Ideal Candidate:

An experienced Commercial Manager, Account Manager, or Account Director with significant expertise in managing complex commercial contracts, particularly in IT service delivery for public sectors such as education, transport, healthcare, or public services. The role demands a strong leader with excellent team development, client relationship management, and market analysis skills. A university degree or equivalent is preferred, along with outstanding communication skills and a professional demeanour.
