Wearelookingfora ProgramCoordinator forourteeninternshipprogramwithaproventrackrecordin leading initiatives that inspire and motivate teens to become future leaders. Ed Inquiry’s Head of the ClassTeenLeadershipProgramoffershighschoolstudentstheopportunitytoearnwhiletheylearnby assistinginstructorsinourvirtualclassrooms.Thegoaloftheprogramistoprovidehighschoolstudents with work experience and exposure to the field of K-12 education as a future career possibility.
Furthermore,theTeenLeadershipprogramoffersmanyopportunitiesforteenstodevelopleadership skills outside of the classrooms assigned.
TheTeenLeadershipProgramCoordinatormustbeaself-starter,abletoleadthroughstudent-centric strategies, capable of inspiring teens to become lifelong learners and team players.
EssentialDutiesand Responsibilities
- Supportapproximately50ormorehighlymotivatedteeninternstosucceedintheirroleasvirtual teaching assistants in Ed Inquiry’s virtual classroom.
- Bewellversedinmulticulturalteamworkandbecomfortableworkingwithinaninclusiveand diverse virtual group of interns.
- Managetheteeninternprocessfromrecruitmenttooff-boarding,includingobtainingrequired paperwork for employment (work permits) in order to ensure a smooth start of their summer placement.
- Communicatewithstaffandinstructorstoensureclearunderstandingofhowtheinternsare performing and how to further support them for their success.
- Planandleadorientationandweeklyworkshopstoprepareteenstofulfilltheirresponsibilities. This includes:
- Providingleadershiptrainingand tools
- CoordinatingwithinstructionalleaderstoensureTeensarealignedwithinstructional content.
- CoordinatingwiththetechteamtoensureTeensaretrainedonanytechtoolsneededfor their job responsibilities.
- Manageteens’schedulesandensuretimelysubmissionoftheirtimesheetsforpayroll processing.
- OverseeweeklyTeenLeaders’ meetings.
- Abletobuildstrongrelationshipsandrapportwiththeteeninterns,inordertocreateapositive work experience.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor'sorMaster's degree
- Experienceleadingyouth-serving programs.
- Abilityandcommitmenttobuildrelationshipswithyouthofdiverseethnicandsocio-economic backgrounds.
- Experiencedesigningandimplementingsystemsand processes.
- Goodcommunicationandinterpersonal skills.
- Flexibleandadaptabletoafastchanging environment.
Working Environment
This position is a primarily virtual full time contract position with occasional in-person teen meetings held throughouttheyearintheMassachusettsarea.Therefore,wecanonlyconsiderapplicantswhoresidein New England, preferably in the greater Boston area.
