What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture

Manufacturing process is somewhat novel when comparing other vessel fabrications for a Pressurised circuit; allied with a fundamental knowledge of power beam processes, the optimal candidate would equally have:

  • Exposure to exotic material groups plus a fundamental understanding of the associated tolerances / specific manufacturing challenges.
  • Fundamental knowledge of DFMEA / Expert Elicitation / PFMEA to influence Product definition / final form manufacture
  • Specific Product knowledge of Core technologies
  • Responsible for understanding Process Inputs to Process Outputs relationship
  • The role is advertised as days however there may be the potential to work a 2 shift pattern in the future depending on skillsets and career development.

  • Experience of fabrication of critical classified components.
  • Knowledge of power beam welding processes is desirable.
  • You will have a degree, or equivalent, in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in a manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering background
  • You will have strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving skills along with knowledge of six sigma / lean techniques
  • You will be a good communicator and able to liaise with all levels of staff
  • You will possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting at all levels

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
