We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and innovative nurse to join our team as a deputy nurse manager to help the team achieve the best care for the patients and safe administration of SACT. The unit is open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm.


~ The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and have a flexible approach to work. They will have the opportunity to work on the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit across the County.


This position offers the applicant an opportunity to develop clinical and managerial skills relating to chemotherapy, whilst supporting the ongoing development of the ward team in maintaining high standards of care.

The Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT) suite and mobile cancer unit offer outpatient chemotherapy to patients from across the region the SACT suites receive approximately 2000 referrals for treatment each year. A Mobile Chemotherapy Unit was officially launched in May 2014. The Mobile Chemotherapy Unit has 4 chairs and treats patients at various locations in the county of Lincolnshire.

Your NHS needs you
Registered Nurse Level 1
Extended competencies in cannulation, venepuncture, management of central venous lines and administration of chemotherapy
Able to demonstrate a flexible approach to the provision of holistic, clinically effective care
Evidence of assessing and supervising junior staff
Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda.
Experience of undertaking research/audit projects

Previous clinical experience in an Oncology / Haematology setting
Experience as shift co-ordinator
Able to support Junior staff members in the delivery of chemotherapy

Experience of attending Medical Committee Meetings


To be able to articulate their own vision for the development of nursing and nurse led initiatives within the unit
Leadership skills with a flexible supportive approach

Requirement to travel between the hospital site and the mobile unit usually with equipment
