Architectural Director – Surrey We are working with a highly successful architectural practice that is expanding due to a growing client base and ambitious business plans. They are looking to recruit an Architectural Director or Associate, with proven management and business development skills, to lead the development of a new location in Surrey (location tbc and can be decided in conjunction with successful applicant). This is an incredible opportunity for an Architectural Director to play a key role in shaping the future of the practice, supported by well-established infrastructure and resources. They are looking for a dynamic leader who shares their vision to drive their expansion strategy. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in setting up and operating the new office while delivering high-quality projects for their diverse clientele. What They’re Looking For:

  • Ideally 10 years of experience, with a proven track record in architecture
  • An established client base and a strong understanding of the industry
  • Experience in large-scale residential projects, working with PLCs and SMEs
  • Expertise in master planning
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills – a hands-on, approachable leader
  • A clear understanding of balancing business with architecture
  • Ambition to lead, set up, and grow a new office location
  • Alignment with the client’s growth plans and goals
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of concept designs and master planning to meet client needs, offering creative, innovative solutions
  • Manage project teams and oversee a variety of design projects
  • Represent the practice in client presentations and public engagements such as design review panels and public examinations
  • Build and strengthen relationships with current clients, while also developing new business opportunities
  • Oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring client satisfaction and high standards of quality
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the architectural team, ensuring compliance with QA/QC processes and UK building regulations
  • Handle multiple projects and deadlines, demonstrating excellent project administration skills
  • Act as a client-facing representative, able to engage confidently and professionally to agree on project requirements
