We are recruiting for a Fetal Medicine Support Midwife who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will act as a deputy to the Band 7 fetal medicine specialist midwife to meet their responsibility to lead the service in relation to fetal medicine based on current evidence-based research and ensuring an optimum level of safe and effective care.
You will offer specialist advice on aspects of screening and diagnosis to women and health professionals.
Work with the fetal medicine specialist midwife to ensure a high-quality fetal medicine service taking into account the national standards and the Hospital's responsibility to meet their key performance indicators.
Contribute to robust recording and tracing of information and results, audit, training, guideline development and monitoring of mandatory quality standards.
Assist the fetal medicine specialist midwife to ensure that guidance and recommendations are followed and implemented as appropriate. In collaboration with the Specialist midwife the potholder will manage safe and effective service provision within the fetal medicine programme and escalate concerns to the Midwifery Matron with overall responsibility for the fetal medicine service.
This includes proactively supporting all members of the maternity team by providing professional clinical guidance and advice.

Qualifications / Training
Professional Portfolio demonstrating evidence of relevant ongoing professional development
Relevant Post graduate Study in Midwifery
Basic Counselling
Delivery of training for all staff groups
Involvement with clinical audit research
Demonstrate commitment to the implementation of evidence-based practice
Ability to maintain and present data.
Practical experience of audit and implementation and review
Aware of current research, reports and guidelines relating to maternity care and fetal medicine
