Business Development Manager - Industrial Electrical Sector

Salary negotiable up to c. £35K to £40K plus performance based incentive and future career development & progression.

Our Client has a new position available for an internally based Sales and Business Development Manager, with some customer visits as required. We are seeking suitable candidates for the role with a proven ability in a similar position or from a sales background within the industrial electrical sector. In order to commute to the office, the successful candidate is likely to live in the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, or Northamptonshire areas. Full product training will be provided, but an understanding and some experience related to the industrial electrical sector would be ideal.

The role is predominantly office based on a daily basis and will progress with the individual's development to include some customer visits, which may be with other colleagues or independently. This will require a valid driving license; a company vehicle will be provided for this or reimbursement of mileage as this arises. If this develops into a regular requirement, a company car would be provided at that time, and possibly as part of the package dependent upon the applicant's suitability and level of career experience and ability.

Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out research to identify new business opportunities and projects.
  2. Build relationships and identify opportunities with existing and dormant accounts.
  3. Target new business through lead generation tools.
  4. Drive sales growth in carrying out the above.
  5. Analyse competitor products, commercial strategy and routes to market.
  6. Update and maintain the CRM system.
  7. Provide commercial and product technical support.
Requirements:
  1. Recognised Electrical qualification.
  2. 5 years experience in a sales related role in the electrical sector.
  3. Strong analytical skills.
  4. Self-motivated and target driven.
  5. Familiarity with CRM systems, Salesforce is used.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Excellent spoken and written English language.
  8. Valid driving license.
  9. Already be within the stated locations.
  10. UK resident.
