Technical Consultant – Azure Virtual Desktop (12-Month FTC)

Location: Remote (UK)

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum

This is an opportunity to join a leading Azure Expert MSP, Microsoft Solutions Partner for Azure, and a global IT service provider committed to delivering innovative cloud solutions.

Their Professional Services team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Technical Consultant with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The Role:

As a Technical Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions for external clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient deployments that meet diverse business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) deployments, including architecture design, configuration, and migration.
  • Assess client environments and provide recommendations for AVD optimization and performance enhancement.
  • Implement secure and scalable solutions, integrating with Microsoft 365 and other cloud services.
  • Develop and deliver detailed technical documentation and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and client stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Stay up to date with Azure and AVD innovations, advising on best practices and emerging trends.

Key Skills and Experience:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Proven expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop design, deployment, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure, including EntraID, Azure Networking, and Azure Security.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager, FSLogix, and RDS.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 integration and identity management.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and service management frameworks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.
