First Task Professional are delighted to be working on an opportunity for Contractor who have a very strong foothold in the Transmission & Distribution, Substations, Pharma & Data Centre industries across the UK and Europe.
They currently have a requirement for a Lead Civil Engineer to deliver projects across Scotland.
The role is paying a market leading salary and as such are looking for top tier Civil Engineers.
Review tender responses from a technical perspective to assist the commercial department in selecting the preferred civil subcontractor.
* Collaborate with the project PM and QS to prepare subcontract packages.
* Project manage the civil subcontractor in conjunction with the project PM.
* Coordinate with the electrical design and construction teams to ensure proper civil installation and successful handover to electrical construction and the end client.
* Work closely with the project PM to ensure all variations are documented and communicated to the project QS promptly.
* Communicate with the civil subcontractor regarding variations and any related design/re-design work.
* Ensure compliance with the client’s management systems as specified in the contract documentation.
* Manage civil sub-consultants and contractors.
* Deliver projects on time, safely, and to the required quality standards.
* Experience in civil engineering delivery for substations or electrical power installations according to relevant design codes and standards.
* Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the client.
* Proficiency in producing and presenting drawings using AutoCAD.
* Commercial awareness.
* Process-driven with a focus on EHS and quality work management systems and processes.
* Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers and graduates.
