The Role

This is an opportunity for a talented individual to lead the Roads Design, Bridges & Flooding teams within the Engineering Design Unit of Falkirk Council.

The postholder will organise, plan & supervise the teams providing a full design & contract supervision service in Roads Design, Geotechnics, Drainage, Bridge & Structural Design, Bridge Maintenance and Flood Risk Management.

You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent discipline) and will be a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent, CEng or working towards. You will also have appropriate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation including health & safety.

You will have good organisational and mentoring skills, along with experience of managing a team and associated budgets. You will be IT literate, have good interpersonal and report writing skills, with an ability to work as part of a team.

You are required to be flexible, innovative and reactive to public demands and pressures.
