Our building surveying team is part of Mace's consultancy business. We deliver projects nationally for both public and private sectors including government departments, local authorities and private developers. Mace is currently recruiting qualified building surveyors with a focus on the principal designer roles for CDM 2015 and BSA for our central government team to support our building surveying team to implement the new duty holder roles created under the building safety act 2022 and The building regulations etc. (Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in building control compliance delivery and knowledge of the approved documents for a diverse range of instructions.
Provides design and manage the developing design as per contract requirements.
Collaborates with the wider design disciplines, client personnel and construction teams.
Attends/participates in client meetings and design workshops as necessary.
Manages direct reports work outputs to ensure it is timely, in scope and of a quality expected.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Provide principal designer (building regulations) services for CDM 2015 and building regulations to our clients across all RIBA Stages.
Strong people management and leadership skills are an advantage to chair online and in person workshops with designers, to help them comply with their new duty holder roles.
A detailed and in-depth understanding of building regulations including fire safety is required.
Management support for training and development of others to carry out building regulations compliance checks and management.
Provide building safety act consultancy advice and client advisor services to clients to help them comply with their duties.
Candidates should be MRICS or CIOB (Level 4 diploma in building control surveying) qualified.
Strong knowledge base including building control approvals and consultancy.
Delivery of work outputs within set time frames and commercial goals.
Team player capable of a flexible approach.
Strong IT capabilities including working experience of Microsoft Office and tablet & mobile data collection.
