Forseven, a revolutionary company looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, is seeking an Vehicle User Experience Research Senior/Lead to join our highly skilled and dynamic Engineering team.
The Opportunity:
The Vehicle User Experience Research Senior/Lead will sit in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Team, within the Engineering department. We are open to either a senior or lead position, depending on experience.
They will be data-driven and adopt both quantitative and qualitative approaches to product development through UX research. They will be responsible for developing and executing their own research protocols to assess vehicle user experience across competitor vehicles and setting/tracking targets within our own vehicles with UX in mind. They will be an attribute owner covering areas such as cargo and stowage, journey start/end, passenger experience and zero-speed in-vehicle experiences. They will work cross-functionally to deliver on the attribute, leveraging collaboration with other teams to ensure a best-in-class and unique user experience. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong appreciation and enthusiasm for both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. This is not a design position, but a research position.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain the 'Vehicle User Experience' attribute
- Conduct user trials in competitor vehicles to assess the performance of vehicle UX using both quantitative and qualitative approaches
- Work cross-functionality with, for example, customer experience team, lifestyle products, product, and vehicle architecture teams to enable a culture of evidence-based decision-making towards a best-in-class UX
- Collaborate with Human Factors and Ergonomics research activities such as ergonomic/UX BUCK testing, on-road, and simulator-based user testing
- Conduct driving simulator-based research to validate new driver-focused technologies
- Identify and explore areas for UX innovation and maintain a critical awareness of market trends and changing user needs.
- Develop user journeys and robust use cases to support product development and test the suitability of solutions
Who you are:
- Degree required in a subject akin to User Experience Design, Psychology, Product/Industrial Design, Human Factors or Human Sciences. Higher level degree with a research focus is preferred
- Strong hands-on research capability with the ability to define research questions, develop and execute a research protocol
- Thorough understanding of statistical methods and the ability to use relevant software (e.g., IBM's SPSS)
- Proven experience developing and conducting qualitative research methods including interviews, survey design, and thematic analysis
- Strong understanding of relevant validated research methods and tools (e.g., SUS, TLX, UEQ, MSSQ, ethnography, hierarchal task analysis etc.)
