You will need to have a strong technical background and broad exposure within multinational remits and relish being highly visible to the board whilst instilling best practice across the team from the ground up.

**The position is fully remote but you have to be a resident in the UK**

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting directly to Group CFO, the EMEA Controller is a key member of the FLT who will take responsibility for Board Reporting, Balance Sheet control, Financial Reporting/consolidations, Statutory Accounts and ability to be business facing with international projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Ownership of the EMEA financials and consolidated accounts across a fast paced ‘start up’ feel business as they scale at pace
  • Lead a team of 6 across the UK covering EMEA remit. Coach, develop and train the team for best in class practice
  • Oversee and manage the production of accurate and timely monthly Management Accounts and Interim (half-year) and annual corporate statutory group reporting
  • Lead on M&A activity and accounting across geographies
  • Work with outside accountants to ensure tax compliance
  • Preparation of journal entries, data entry and posting, on a monthly or as needed basis, to ensure integrity of the general ledger and financial statements
  • Prepare various financial statements and reports for the clients, auditors, regulatory agencies, and others both internal and external to the organization
  • Participate in the maintenance of accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and facilitate information flow by working collaboratively with other organizational departments
  • Analyse and recommend accounting and financial reporting improvements with a goal of using systems effectively and efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and strong internal controls
  • Responsible for the consolidation of ESG-metrics reporting for the Group in collaboration with relevant Business Units
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the standardisation of reporting and operational efficiencies

Candidate Background:

  • Qualified accountant with substantial PQE
  • Ideally have a background in one of the “big 4” audit firms
  • Ability to work in a fast/ever changing ‘start up’ environment
  • Exposure working in US business desirable
  • Influential and credible with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders at an international level
  • Working in a wide variety of sub-disciplines (e.g., G/L, tax, process improvement)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to present technical information to non-technical / senior audiences
  • Proven ability to work as a member of multi-functional teams
