Senior Finance Assistant (Highly Competitive Salary)

Job Title: Senior Finance Assistant

Livingston (office-based)

Contract Length: 18 Month FTC

Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm (including one-hour unpaid break per day)

Start Date: ASAP

One of our incredible long-standing clients within Livingston are currently looking for an experienced Senior Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will act as the Finance Director's right hand, supporting them with tasks including financial forecasting, month-end management accounts, maintaining fixed asset registers, audit preparation and budget planning to ensure the smooth running of all in-house financial operations. However, you will also play a crucial role in managing day-to-day financial activities such as bank reconciliation, invoice generation and processing company expenses. Highly competitive salary (depending on experience).
21 days holiday per year plus English statutory holidays.

Bank Reconciliation:

Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.Generate invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Input invoices into the system, maintaining a clear audit trail.Data Entry:

Maintain accurate financial records and update internal spreadsheets.Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Fixed Assets:

Maintain Fixed Assets register including calculation of monthly depreciation charges.Balance Sheet Reconciliation:

Support the Finance Manager in budget preparation and monitoring.Audit Support:

Assist in the external audits by providing necessary documentation and Administrative Support:

Reviewing Monthly Management Accounts:

Assist in the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, highlighting any discrepancies or trends.
Support the Finance Manager in financial analysis and reporting.Maintaining Financial Journals and Sales/Purchase Ledgers:

Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate ledger.
Reconcile sales and purchase ledger accounts, resolving any discrepancies.

Previous experience in a senior finance role.
Excellent knowledge of financial systems, processes, and procedures.
Part AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualified is preferred.
Previous experience in handling international accounts and dealing with multiple currencies is desirable, but not essential.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel as well as bespoke in-house systems.
