Do you want to make a difference to patients using both your physical and psychosocial skills? Do you want to be part of a team with a big ambition? Then the Vascular Team at EKHUFT needs you
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Vascular Team for an experienced Band 5 or current Band 6 to be able to specialise in vascular and amputee work. The team continues to grow after the expansion of vascular services in Kent and Medway and is developing and striving towards providing a first-class service to our vascular patients within Kent.
This Band 6 role will be both challenging and rewarding, providing input to patients through their whole vascular journey. You will be part of a large, dynamic and proactive surgical therapy team. The Occupational Therapists are highly valued and given the opportunity to be creative with their intervention in order to provide a holistic approach and put the needs of the patient first. The role involves some supervisory responsibilities and opportunity to support service improvements, under the guidance of the team's Vascular Clinical Therapy Lead.
This is a full time role, however part time hours will be considered.
We guarantee no two days will be the same, there will be lots of variety, so excellent problem-solving skills are a must If you have the passion to improve the lives of patients and develop your skills in this specialist area, then this is the job for you
Main duties involve:
- To manage daily a clinical caseload of patients, and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and treatments and to give specialised therapy advice to members of the MDT.
- To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team
- To be actively involved with training within the Department in support of new graduate Occupational therapists, student therapists, therapy apprentices and support workers alongside other senior members of the team.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people.
Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference'.
We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day.
