Job Description

Escape Recruitment is working with an organisation that supplies parts and components and is looking to appoint a Senior Sourcing Specialist.

The Senior Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new Suppliers.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive industry research to identify new suppliers
  • Making introductions with potential suppliers to understand their service offering, pricing and lead times
  • Negotiate and agree commercial terms with suppliers
  • Ensuring all data relating to products, pricing and lead times is updated on the ERP system
  • Identify supply options for customer requests and work with the Sales Team to source and plan quotation requests
  • Maintain the database for approved suppliers
  • Monitor Supplier Performance
  • Mentor and support team members

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

  • Experience working in a similar sourcing/procurement role with a bias on sourcing new suppliers
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Understanding of how to evaluate different suppliers
  • Commercially minded and can negotiate effectively and maintain profitable supplier relationships
  • Experienced in collecting and analysing data
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with multiple suppliers
  • Experience in mentoring and training team members
