Location: Solutia in Newport Competitive salary & benefits Contract Type: Fixed Term 38 Hours a week - NAECI Cat 4 + hourly bonus The Opportunity As a Scaffolder, the main purpose of the role is to erect, dismantle and alter scaffold as part of a scaffolding team. The key duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Select serviceable scaffold tubes, boards and fittings, using them correctly and safely
  • Select, inspect, assemble and install prefabricated beams into and onto scaffold structures
  • Erect scaffold safely and correctly
  • Install spurs and rakers within the correct operating angles. Attach check fittings, droppers and puncheons in the correct positions to scaffolds
  • Install anchor ties and other specialist fixings to the manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Select, space and install the correct amount of ties to restrain sheeted and un-sheeted scaffolds in unexposed areas, to current industry practices
  • Inspect basic scaffolds prior to handover
The Person The ideal candidate for the job must hold a valid CISRS Basic Scaffold card in order to do the job, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. They will have knowledge of Layher/Cuplock/Haki/Plettac system scaffold, as well as an understanding of safe work practices. Essential:
  • Part 1/ Part 2 Scaffold training
  • A minimum of 2 years scaffold experience
  • Health and safety tested
