About the role

Welcome to the Customer team. We are a small group of 5 customer experts and engineers that moonlight as consultants for our client projects and we're looking to rapidly expand by bringing on a few more passionate practitioners.

As our Solutions Sales Engineer in our team, you’ll be balancing your time between solving seriously tough software engineering problems, and meeting with customers to truly understand their pains and how our products may help them. You’ll be working alongside our implementation leaders, account managers, product owners and backend engineers to tackle our customers’ problems. This role requires someone with a blend of technical acumen and client-facing skills, as you’ll be given the autonomy to lead early-stage presentations to client executives and technical contributors.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will work alongside our implementation leads during the technical journey of each customer from the first meeting until technical acceptance - engaging technical champions, qualifying solution fit, demonstrating solution capabilities and business value, and crafting responses to technical objections
  • Partner with account managers to understand customers’ pain and qualify solutions that lead to a strong return on investment for the customer
  • Scope, communicate, and manage technical proof-of-concept (POC) projects
  • Sales Engineers are also relied upon for various post-sales tasks, including implementations, optimisations, and helping ensure a high level of service for our customers
  • Utilising a unique blend of technical and business skills, they’re able to translate customer pains and needs into solutions using Flexciton platform
  • Solution development - you will work closely with the sales and product teams to design and refine our solutions based on customer needs

What are we looking for in you?

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years working with a programming language in a commercial setting (i.e. on a full-stack production application)
  • Hands on experience with SQL or Python required, preferably both
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as evidenced by an ability to relay quite technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Appetite to discover various popular development platforms (e.g. Angular, Kubernetes, Docker, and other full-stack tools)
  • Interested in becoming an expert in the world of semiconductors

What you’ll achieve in your first 3-6 months:

  • Deliver a few production-grade engineering features
  • Learn about the full-stack of our application including how it’s deployed
  • Work on early-stage Proof of Concept projects including deploying new instances of our app for those clients
  • Become an expert in our product, how it's used, and how it works
  • Travel to the site of one or more of these customers to gather requirements
  • Analyse data from the client sites for the purpose of understanding product requirements and user stories
