Your Impact and Responsibilities:

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing our procurement strategies and operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Following and executing the Group Procurement Strategy & Procedure across the business.
  • Conducting benchmarking and market assessment in the category at a global level, and proactively mitigating cost increase risks.
  • Managing risk by identifying potential procurement-related risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring suppliers have robust business continuity plans.
  • Delivering cost savings and supplier performance targets on time.
  • Managing procurement processes , including policies and supplier onboarding.
  • Sourcing and supplier management .
  • Negotiating and managing contracts , working closely with budget owners and the Legal Department to ensure compliance with laws and industry standards.
  • Conducting various processes in line with business requirements and objectives.
  • Ensuring the best cost modelling and negotiating favourable terms for each procurement project.
  • Collaborating with various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide appropriate support, engaging with internal stakeholders for feedback on supplier performance.
  • Reporting and analytics .
  • Supporting the Category Buying Manager , working directly with internal customers across all markets, aligning with Pepco Group strategies, and efficiently performing procurement activities.
  • Participating in budget forecasting, cost control, and discrepancy verification processes .
  • Promoting sustainable procurement practices by selecting suppliers adhering to environmental and social responsibility standards.
  • Presenting innovative ideas to reduce indirect costs, recommend improvements, and enhance quality to support the growth of the Pepco Group business.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an international business environment (retail experience is an advantage).
  • Technical and Soft Skills:
  • Good understanding of procurement and retail business.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain good and long-term relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Business courage and initiative.
  • Proficiency in analysing data, drawing conclusions, recommending solutions, and implementing action plans.
  • Proactivity and effective time management.
  • Open-mindedness.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Powerpoint
