Position Title: Field Service Technician
Job Summary: Our client, a reliable plastics injection molding machine manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician. The Field Service Technician performs work remotely at customer sites, installing and servicing equipment, and providing customer training and support as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Performs software and hardware installations.
- Performs all safety checks on equipment.
- Educates customers on equipment operation.
- Provides technical support to customers.
- Orders replacement parts, troubleshoots, and diagnoses problems.
- Repairs and/or replaces components on machines.
- Provides written reports to the Service Manager.
- Assists customers with technical difficulties.
- Manages resolution of customer issues.
- Calibrates machines for optimum performance.
- Instructs other Technicians and customer operators.
- Communicates with Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center.
- Provides follow-up support to customers.
- Provides guidance/training to junior Technicians.
- Performs other duties/projects as required.
Associates in Industrial Maintenance Technology – concentration in Injection Molding Machines Degree in Mechatronics OR equivalent work experience
BS in Mechanical or Electrical or Polymer Science/Plastics Technology or Equivalent Experience
Experience:8+ years in Injection Molding troubleshooting or processing or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer
Licenses/Certifications:Master Molder Degrees/Certifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Good communication skills
Knowledge of plastic processing and injection molding
Ability to troubleshoot problems systematically
Experience in microprocessor programming
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to handle difficult customers tactfully
Demonstrated initiative and positive attitude
Extensive experience with injection molding machines
