Our client is seeking a Business Support Officer to provide efficient and effective support processes in line with statutory requirements and to ensure the smooth operation of their services. The role involves advising clients, liaising with internal and external agencies, and providing comprehensive business and secretarial support within the Children & Family Services (C&FS) department.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Provide a comprehensive range of business support services, including administrative and secretarial functions, utilising organisational skills to coordinate local and statutory requirements.
  • Create, develop, and maintain information systems and processes using Microsoft Office packages to produce reports that assist services and officers across the department.
  • Support the administration of complex databases, ensuring accurate updating systems are in place for auditing purposes and efficient analysis across service areas.
  • Undertake financial routines, including imprest and p-card arrangements, and monitor budgets associated with service requirements.
  • Manage diary appointments, arrange meetings for managers, and handle daily routine inboxes for senior management staff.
  • Plan and organise meetings, prepare relevant materials and documentation, and provide post-meeting support.
  • Receive and respond to emails, telephone calls, and visitors, ensuring appropriate handling.
  • Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from schools, partners, voluntary and community organisations, agencies, and the public, including generic inbox management.

  • Proficient in Excel with excellent attention to detail.
