London, United Kingdom Metro Bank Plc Full time

We have been awarded the “Most Loved Workplace” At Metro Bank, people come first – our culture is all about bringing the best out in our colleagues, and making sure everyone feels valued, respected, seen and included. We strongly believe in a diverse and inclusive workplace, and to find the very best person for the job we always look across a wide range of diverse communities. What you will do:

  1. You will be a strategic and trusted HR Business Partner/ People Partner partnering with our Executive/ Senior Leadership, key business areas, and our outsourcing partner(s).
  2. Our HRBP will work on a number of projects throughout the year, and will develop and deliver People Plans to support our Business and People Strategy.
  3. You will be the face of the People team, flexing as required to support across a variety of business areas, proposing positive people solutions to organisational challenges, providing expert guidance and role modelling our culture, enhancing the colleague experience and creating FANS.
  4. Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders to drive and influence positive change, ensuring their thinking is people focused and their OD is aligned to our growth plans.
  5. Constructively challenge leaders and peers to make sure we are thinking ahead and looking for opportunities to support and drive commercial growth.
  6. Lead projects with Centres of Excellence to deliver the wider business growth and people plans, with a strong focus on capability, talent, OD, engagement, performance, D&I, and colleague experience.
  7. Use people related MI to draw insight and identify and implement actions that improve the colleague experience.
  8. Consistently act as a cultural ambassador, role modelling all of our behaviours in each interaction.
  9. And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the ability to call out any concerns.
What you will need:
  1. Experience working in a HRBP role, ideally in an organisation where you’ve worked alongside an outsourcing partner or 3rd party providers or demonstrable experience of delivering HR change projects through effective partnership with business stakeholders.
  2. Proven experience connecting business and people strategy, reviewing OD against business goals, with experience developing a people plan that supports these.
  3. Solid experience working in a business partnering operating model, utilising, influencing and challenging specialist teams around you to achieve business goals.
  4. Strong influencing and coaching ability at senior leader and executive level, knowing when and how to challenge.
  5. Experience using data to identify trends and insights, working with leaders and colleagues to identify meaningful initiatives and opportunities that help achieve business objectives.
  6. Resilient, and comfortable working without clear direction and dealing with ambiguity.
  7. Great at keeping your knowledge on trends and external insights up to date.
  8. Ideally a chartered/qualified member of the CIPD or have studied to an advanced level in a business / Human Resources related subject – though this is not essential.
  9. To understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
Our promise to you…
  1. We will make sure that you are well-rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts
  2. We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions).
  3. We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible.

Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck
