PMO Analyst – AI and Emerging Tech – Belfast Abacus is exclusively hiring a PMO Analyst to join a highly successful professional services brand. We want to appoint a proactive and technically capable PMO Analyst to be central to the successful delivery and governance of the IT project portfolio. As a PMO Analyst, you will oversee project tracking, resource planning, risk and issue management and financial forecasting. You will also play a key role in evolving the PMO tooling (Asana) and introduce AI-driven efficiencies and innovation within PMO operations. This role will suit someone with an enthusiastic drive for ideas and innovation. To be inquisitive, to challenge the PM and IT teams with critical questions and positive evolution. To bring forward challenges, solutions and utilise AI and other emerging technologies to critique, evaluate and propose initiatives that can open a new era for the firm. The purpose is to improve resourcing and project ROI, optimise skills and capacity, drive efficiencies and continuous improvement, challenge KPIs and the 'status quo'. The role is focused on: Portfolio Oversight & Governance Monitor and maintain the IT project portfolio/PMO suite and align with strategic goals. Identify and escalate resource and capacity pinch points across projects. Update and review project plans, risk logs, issue registers and lessons learned. Support governance and compliance with established project delivery frameworks. Lead on specific projects, to maintain and maximise PM capabilities of the firm. Technical Enablement & Tooling Maintain and enhance PMO capabilities within Asana e.g. template creation, reporting dashboards and workflow automation. Lead the introduction of AI into PMO activities, identifying opportunities for automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent reporting. Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure PMO tooling integrates effectively with broader enterprise platforms. Ensure accurate, portfolio reporting is available daily, weekly and monthly. Leading to the hosting of a monthly PMO updates meeting for key IT stakeholders Financial Management Support the review and provision of financials for all IT projects. Ensure accurate annual budget planning and forecasting for the IT portfolio. Work closely with the Business Analysis team to create, socialize, activate, and monitor project budgets. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Partner with Project Managers, Business Analysts and Finance to ensure project delivery is well-supported and financially sound. Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on portfolio health, risks, and financials. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO and wider IT function. Run and present updates on the Portfolio at a monthly projects meeting. Ensure IT and Business stakeholders are participants in regular project governance meetings to control, manage and pre-empt risks or deliverables. Experience and Skills: Ideally, you will offer over at least 5 years' experience and demonstrate: Proven experience in a PMO or project delivery role, ideally within IT or professional services. Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and resource planning. Experience with Asana (and Asana AI), or equivalent e.g. ClickUp, Trello, Monday etc) and ability to configure and optimize tooling. Familiarity with AI concepts and their application in project or operational contexts. Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking. Bring the team forward with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement. Desirable experience: Experience working in a shared service or hub-based delivery model. Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot, Agentic AI, or other enterprise productivity tools. Understanding of IT service delivery and infrastructure environments. Experience of big projects e.g. ESG, green computing or supply chain is of interest.
