We are seeking a skilled Azure DevOps Engineer to join our client's team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps automation tools, software engineering processes, and coding languages like Python, Java, and Pyspark. This role will involve configuring and implementing DevOps tools for continuous integration, build automation, and deployment.

Responsibilities:

  • DevOps Tool Configuration: Install and configure popular DevOps automation tools on cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
  • Continuous Integration Setup: Understand project and application context to set up continuous integration for automated and continuous builds.
  • Build Script Development: Develop and maintain build scripts and versioning systems.
  • Build Packaging and Deployment: Package and deploy builds to servers.
  • Continuous Testing: Implement continuous testing practices and tools.
  • Software Engineering Processes: Adhere to software engineering processes and DevOps best practices.
  • Coding: Demonstrate proficiency in coding languages such as Java, Shell, and Python.
  • SDLC Processes: Understand and contribute to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, and Pyspark
  • Knowledge of Hadoop Big Data
  • Understanding of DevOps automation and best practices
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell)
