London South Bank University is excited to be recruiting for a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and Design to join our vibrant School of Engineering and Design. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an emerging academic to contribute to the continued development of our Mechanical Engineering and Product Design portfolio. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your own research, within areas aligned to the School’s priorities – such as sustainable and circular design, advanced manufacturing, materials and structural innovation, energy systems including thermal engineering, digital design and simulation, engineering systems and others. You will contribute to research funding bids, knowledge exchange activities, or enterprise projects. Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, Product Design, or a related discipline, with expertise that complements our teaching and research strengths. Experience of teaching, tutoring or demonstrating in higher education. Experience of supervising undergraduate, postgraduate taught and/or research projects. An emerging track record of research, scholarship or professional practice, evidenced through high quality journal publications, post-doctoral experience or proven engagement with industry. The ability to deliver modules outside of immediate research specialism. This post is open on a full-time permanent basis to candidates who meet the Research Excellence Framework (REF) criteria at the time of appointment. Applicants should have a record of high-quality research outputs that meet REF standards.
