Health and Safety Manager (Construction) Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Health and Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of health and safety within our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Providing training to employees and contractors
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of Construction Experience
  • Site Visits – New home developments, office blocks, and apartments in Birmingham City centre
  • £50+ million sites
  • Clean driving license
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015
  • Good I.T. skills
  • Ensure construction accreditations such as CHAS and Constructionline are achieved and renewed
  • Construction NEBOSH preferred; General NEBOSH considered
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in health and safety management
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders on health and safety matters
  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective gear
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation
