HDU/Recovery Senior Staff Nurse

Due to internal promotion we have an opportunity for an RGN to join our hospital Baldock Manor, on a fixed term contract basis. The role of the Practice Nurse is to work as an effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary team, promote the best interests of the patients and carers and ensure that prescribed nursing care is effectively implemented. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe care environment, exercise professional accountability and utilise your professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments within the scope of professional practice.
Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
93 per hour
Chronic health conditions management;
Requesting pathology tests
New patient medicals/urinalysis
Assist and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff;
Knowledge of management of patients with long-term conditions
Knowledge of physical health issues
Practice of medical emergency scenarios
Clinical skills – immunisation and vaccination, diabetes, epilepsy, stoma care wound care
Up to date NMC registration
Experience in nurse-led management of long-term conditions
Experience in quality initiatives such as clinical benchmarking
Nursing diploma/degree
Baldock Manor Hospital is a thriving service.
Over recent years Baldock Manor has undertaken extensive development work to become the hospital it is today. an 8 bedded female PICU service, an older working age men’s 14 bed acute/High dependency unit typically for gentlemen over the age of 45/50 and a similar 10 bedded service for older working age/older age ladies. We are currently opening a fourth 8 bedded PICU service.
Our focus is recovery for our patients with quality care and measurable outcomes at the centre of all we do. Baldock Manor boasts a full MDT with Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology and Occupational Therapy practitioners on site as well as a very able team of Senior support workers, support works, Therapies assistants and more.
Being a smaller hospital gives us the opportunity to coach and mentor our team as well as giving real ability for individuals to take a role in service design and bring their innovative ideas to the fore.
