About Us: Join our dedicated team at a thriving Special Educational Needs (SEN) school committed to providing exceptional support and education to children with diverse needs. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Support Worker to help our students reach their full potential. Key Qualities: Must have experience in a Support Worker role Experience working with SEN children DBS on the update service Empathetic and friendly personalityJob Description/Duties: As a Support Worker in our SEN school, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students. Your responsibilities will include: Providing Individual Support: Assist students with their academic tasks, adapting materials and methods to suit their individual learning needs and capabilities. Personal Care: Support students with personal care tasks as required, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times. Behavioural Support: Help manage and support positive behaviour, using appropriate strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviour. Communication Support: Facilitate effective communication with and between students, using tools and techniques such as Makaton, PECS, or other communication aids. Classroom Assistance: Work closely with teachers to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, preparing materials, and setting up activities. Encouraging Independence: Promote independence by helping students develop life skills, including social interaction, problem-solving, and self-care. Emotional Support: Provide emotional and pastoral support to students, fostering a safe and nurturing environment where they can express themselves and feel valued. Collaborative Work: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and other support staff, to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs). Monitoring and Reporting: Keep accurate records of students' progress and behaviour, and report any concerns or achievements to the appropriate staff members.How to Apply: If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of SEN children and meet the essential criteria, we would love to hear from you.
