About the role and what were looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for a customer focussed and enthusiastic front of house manager with strong communication, inter-personal and organisational skills to contribute towards the making this vibrant arts centre a key venue on the national stage.
When on duty for performances, classes, events or general building opening the duty manager, will be to be responsible for the full front of house operation of the arts centre, co-ordinating volunteers and operational staff and overseeing all contractors, performers and public to ensure the effective efficient and safe delivery of our services with the highest standards of customer care. Whilst on duty the post will be responsible for the building and its resources, to ensure the security and health and safety of the arts centre, its resources and users.
Cornerstone Arts Centre schedules its arts programme all year long. There is an expectation in this role to be available to work unsociable hours (evenings/weekends) and over the Christmas period, for which you will receive time off in lieu.
About you
Your essential skills, knowledge and experience
- Experience of supervising staff.
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Aptitude for short and long term logistical planning and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills and strong people management skills
Your essential qualifications
- 3 A levels or equivalent.
- A degree would be desirable but is not essential.
- First aid in the workplace is desirable
If you have the following experience or qualifications its a bonus
- Enthusiasm and love for the arts
- High level of interest in Cornerstone and its activities
- Previous experience in buildings/facilities management
- Previous experience in administering conference hires
