Role purpose

GB Bank have an exciting opportunity for an experienced,technically minded Compliance Manager to join our Team. The successfulcandidate will take on the duties that help support the business'continued growth so this would be a fantastic career step for someonewith compliance experience within financial services.

This role is a hands-on position for someone who is looking tohelp lead and drive the process improvements at the Bank. You’ll findyourself delivering compliance monitoring reviews, interpreting /providing guidance on regulatory changes, providing regulatory adviceto Line 1 business areas and signing-off new customer communications.

Ideally, you would be a proactive professional and someone whois comfortable implementing change whilst making business-focusseddecisions to improve the ongoing successes of a developing firm.

The post holder is expected to be anappropriately skilled and qualified compliance professional who willbe able to understand and ensure compliance with the relevantregulatory regimes in the UK and join a supportive and friendlyCompliance team working in a collaborative environment.

In this role, you’ll find yourself…

  • Ensuring that our Team are compliant with regulationsacross the company
  • Designing and delivering compliancemonitoring / risk assurance reviews
  • Reporting on progress toclose compliance monitoring / risk assurance actions
  • Investigating to discover the root cause of complianceproblems when they arise
  • Performing research to stay informedabout evolving standards
  • Educating our Team on how to improvecompliance
  • Motivating our Team to not only strive to meetcompliance standards, but also to exceed them for operating efficiency
  • Leading and helping in the design of programmes that improvecompliance
  • Responsible for organising and minute taking atthe monthly Conduct and Compliance Committee
  • Tracking andreporting on upstream regulatory developments.
  • Producingpapers and reports, utilising internal and external Managementinformation, as required.
  • Providing support to the Head ofCompliance, deputising as appropriate.

A bit about you – You are/have most of the following:

  • Proven working experience in UK conductregulations, regulatory change management and applicable laws.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to makecritical decisions with little information available
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to analyse andinterpret information quickly
  • In-depth understanding ofindustry standards and regulations (PRA and FCA)
  • Excellentunderstanding of reporting procedures and record-keeping
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to bemethodical and diligent
  • Detail orientation and the ability topay attention and identify minimal changes in regulations
  • Excellent conflict management skills and the ability todissolve any issues easily
