Main duties of the job

The major responsibilities of the role are working with and assisting the Finance Manager in providing robust, accurate and timely information to budget holders. You will also assist with the monthly production of internal management accounts and liaising with relevant budget holders to gather and disseminate information and help them understand their financial position and develop their services. There is also responsibility for management of a support team consisting of Band 5 and Band 3 staff.

Essential
  • Full professional accountancy qualification (CCAB / CIMA member) or passed finalist or qualified by experience.
  • Educated to Degree level 2:2 or equivalent
Desirable
  • ECDL or other advanced Microsoft Office qualification
Experience

  • Significant experience of financial management within a healthcare environment
  • Staff management experience
  • Experience of all aspects of financial management
  • Experience of business case development
  • Experience of the full budget setting process
  • Experience of working in a large organisation with complex management structures.
Desirable
  • Working with a Programme Management Office (PMO)
  • Managing and maintaining a financial CIP / QIPP tracker

  • Ability to communicate at all levels, with all medical and non-medical staff. Ability to explain complex financial and non-financial concepts and information to a range of audiences.
