ROLE DESCRIPTION

An opportunity to oversee the Corporate Governance function in the UK and the USA and to support the Group Head of Corporate Governance in Group Corporate Governance matters. The desired candidate will have at least five years corporate governance / company secretarial experience in an international finance environment. Specific knowledge of dealing with UK company secretarial matters is essential [and US company secretary matters preferred,] however experience of working within other jurisdictions would be beneficial but not essential as the candidate would develop their knowledge as part of their role.

As with all our colleagues the candidate will also work alongside and support the UK and US management team, legal team and the and the wider Corporate Governance team with various strategic projects. Opportunities exist for self-starters to take leading roles in various initiatives and gain visibility within the organization.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will:

  • have in excess of 5 years’ experience as prescribed above;
  • have or working towards qualifications from a suitable body such as the Chartered Governance Institute;
  • have strong open communication skills, and be organized, analytical, solution-focused and detail-orientated;
  • have the ability to identify material issues and know when to escalate them;
  • have the ability to prioritise multiple work streams and work under tight deadlines;
  • have ability to handle and maintain confidential or sensitive information, and exercise sound judgement on day-to-day matters;
  • have integrity, enthusiasm and willingness to learn;
  • be a proactive team player who is willing to help and support their colleagues;
  • be able to work autonomously but not in isolation.
