Retail Trader

You will be responsible for the commercial valuation, position management and subsequent contract pricing of IREC Certificates.
Speculative Transactions – Execute trades such that the book value is improved (positive retained P&L) by additional transactions not solely undertaken for the benefit of retail/PPA balancing;
Strategy / Product Development – Develop Smartest’s product suite, to ensure Smartest can fully serve the net zero ambitions of their clients;
Market Presence – Develop and maintain relationships with Smartest’s wholesale renewable counterparties and renewable commodity brokers.
Some experience of renewable certificate, emissions and/or fuel trading at a utility, trading house, bank or similar institution;
Extensive experience of analysing market data and trends to develop new commercial strategies;
Extensive network in the UK and European energy markets;

What does hybrid working mean to us?
Hybrid working typically means 2 days in the office location listed on this advert and 3 days working at home each week. Some occasional travel to our other offices may be required.
