We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader to join us as Deputy Director of Maternity Programmes and Evaluations a new and substantial senior leadership role for the organisation that engages across the healthcare system, and with a diverse range of stakeholders, to deliver NHS Resolutions strategic aims and priorities in relation to maternity.

The Deputy Director of Maternity Programmes & Evaluations will bring practical, senior level clinical experience and expertise of patient safety initiatives, and will have the vision, leadership and communication skills required to deliver this important and high profile work.

The post holder will lead on building and maintaining relationships with senior external representatives and professional bodies to champion and raise the profile of NHSRs role as a system leader in patient safety. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and the credibility to engage and influence on the wide range of clinical issues which lead to claims, and sound understanding of patient safety. You will lead a fantastic, multi-skilled and motivated team to deliver this work, including a number of clinical fellows who work hand in hand with our claims staff, our corporate teams and our panel law firms to deliver unique insights to the NHS. NHS Resolution is an Arms Length Body of the Department of Health & Social Care. As a not-for-profit part of the NHS, our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement and preserve resources for patients. We have four key service areas:

Claims Management: delivering expertise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims to members of our Indemnity Schemes.

Practitioner Performance Advice: providing advice, support and interventions in relation to concerns about the individual performance of Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists.
Safety and Learning: supporting the NHS to better understand and learn from claims, concerns and disputes; Some of the benefits we offer include access to the NHS Pension Scheme and a minimum of 27 days Annual Leave.
