Teaching Assistant (Year 6) - 1:1 Support for a Child with ADHD Location: Islington, London Position: Teaching Assistant Year Group: Year 6 Start Date: November, 2024 Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education? At Tradewind we are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ADHD in a Year 6 classroom at a well-regarded school in Islington. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 6 student with ADHD, helping them to stay focused, engaged, and on task. Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and strategies to support the child's learning and behavioural needs. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor the child's progress and adjust support as necessary. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to help the child reach their full potential. Support the student during both classroom activities and unstructured times, such as breaks and lunchtimes. Requirements: Experience: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, specifically with children who have ADHD, is essential. Training: Preferably, candidates will have completed training in ADHD support and behaviour management strategies. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
