Consultant in Gastroenterology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Gastro on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Gastro department.

The successful appointee will be joining a department that currently includes 4 consultants, 2 specialist registrars, 2 clinical fellows, and 3 specialist nurses with responsibilities for inflammatory bowel disease, viral hepatitis, and endoscopy. A number of specialist gastroenterology services have been established at the Trust, including ERCP, oesophageal physiology, capsule endoscopy, and fibroscanning. The appointee will be asked to fulfill various duties, such as:
- Undertaking high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy.
- Participating in the provision of a high-quality out-patient Gastroenterology service, including patient administration.
- Attending the weekly multidisciplinary meetings and monthly governance meetings.
- Contributing to the General Medicine educational programme, including weekly departmental meetings and teaching.
- Acting as the joint educational and clinical supervisor for SpRs in Gastroenterology.
- Attending and actively participating in the regular gastroenterology governance meetings.
