Finance Assistant - Permanent

Castle Donington

Hours - Monday to Friday 40 hours

They are a leading furniture importer/wholesaler in the UK that has grown to be one of the largest companies in the furniture sector. They have designed their services to help companies grow their product categories beyond their standard offering, with a worldwide manufacturing network. Purpose of the Finance Assistant Role:

Our client is looking for a Finance Assistant who will be responsible for handling a wide range of accounting tasks and projects; ranging from preparing monthly journals and supplier invoicing to monthly management reporting and challenging the business concerning how to drive financial improvement. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role is a perfect fit for someone with energy and ambition who wants to develop their career and add value to the business.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Finance Assistant Role:

Preparing a full set of management accounts.
Raising journals in small business accountancy software systems (eg Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage).
Performance monthly actuals vs forecast management reporting, with appropriate business insights.
Identifying opportunities for business improvement and working with teams across the business to support improving efficiency and adding financial value.
Experience/knowledge requirements for the Finance Assistant Role:

Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience.
Minimum AAT level 3 or similar.
Strong Excel skills.
