Donald Russell is seeking such an individual to join our busy marketing team as a Senior Content and Social Media Executive.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, you will lead the planning, creation, and delivery of our social media marketing and write content for use across multiple platforms, including long-form copy for blogs and product copy for use on website and print materials.

 

Your main duties will include:

  • Managing all content and social channels, creating, and implementing a plan which reflect our brand values.
  • Creating multi-media content from concept to production and editing which reflects our brand and food values and tells our story.
  • Supporting the Marketing Manager in bringing our annual calendar of fortnightly campaigns to life with engaging written content and storytelling.
  • Working with our butchery and Head Chef to ensure all content is accurate and of the highest quality.
  • Continual review and improvement of the marketing content across Donald Russell’s marketing channels, including ownership of our product and brand content library.
  • Considering and deploying all potential content, partnership and social media strategies including maximising trade relationships and influencer marketing opportunities.
  • Analysing, reviewing and reporting on social media performance.
  • Achieving and reporting on content and social media KPIs.

 

Note that Hybrid-working or full-time office working is possible, with a minimum of three days per week at our office in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.

 

 

About you

To be successful in role we feel it is important you meet the following criteria;

 

  • The ability to thrive working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Previous experience working in a direct to consumer, ecommerce business.
  • The ability to efficiently create high quality, professional-level multimedia content for use across a variety of digital and offline channels, including video, graphics, and platform specific posts.
  • An expert in both written and visual content creation with a creative flair.
  • Experience working with digital marketing technologies, and a good technical understanding.
  • Experience with tools/platforms such as Meta Business Suite, TikTok, Hootsuite or similar social publishing tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics (GA4), in-platform analytics.
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about food, preferably with a food-marketing background.
  • Educated in marketing, digital media, communications, advertising, or other equivalent/relevant areas is desirable.

Donald Russell is a quality food business with a heritage in butchery based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. With three key arms to our business, we have been supplying hotel and restaurants groups in the UK since 1974 including Malmaison, Hotel Du Vin, 63rd and 1st, La Relais de Venise and The Goring to name a few. Our trade export arm exports to markets around the world including Europe, and Asia, and we have been selling direct to consumers via our website and contact centre for almost 30 years.
