The Commercial Business Manager at AllPoints Fibre (APF)willbe responsible for the management and oversight of key strategic commercial projects, and chair commercial governance forums for APF.Reporting into the Commercial Director and working as part of the commercialleadership team, the Commercial Business Managercollaborates across functionsto support thecommercial decision making, for examplenetwork capacity management or network build decisioning.

About you:

The Commercial Business Managerwill be required tomanage complexity in a fast-paced, ever-evolvingenvironment. Able to step in for the Commercial Director, you should have confidence working in change and be able tomake decisions and drive actions to conclusion, oftenamongst ambiguity. You should be versed inthe management ofcommercial governance forums such as wholesale product lifecycle management, commercial proposition governance, and sales commissions governance and be able to draw on in-depth knowledge of wholesale markets to influence commercial thinking across the APF communities and stakeholders.

More about what you will be doing in this role...

  • Lead the ad-hoc projects and programmes across the commercial function with strong cross matrix delivery required. Such projects can either be self-identified (within commercial) or form part of a broader transformation programme.
  • Chair, manage and monitor commercial governance forums such as Wholesale Product Lifecycle management, Commercial Proposition governance, and Sales Commissions governance.
  • Identify and monitor business continuity across Commercial and interdependencies across other functional areas, with a clear business continuity plan across the commercial function developed, and at an ad hoc basis tested to ensure its robustness.
  • Lead all ISO audits across the commercial function ensuring that Commercial are set up for success.
  • You will consider how the commercial function and where appropriate the broader business where commercial implications exist, can continuously involve its processes and systems to ensure we maintain our differentiation in the full fibre market.
  • Working with Finance you will run review sessions of commercial finance controls and processes that underpin proposition decisioning, business case modelling and other commercial finance KPI’s/ metrics on a regular basis and recommend improvements to ensure that all commercial decisions are made in line with financial
    parameters.
  • Championing and coaching a more commercial mindset across the business and deploying additional training where required to raise commercial awareness and judgment.
  • Leading the knowledge sharing of commercial agreements signed and the consequential impact across each function, where standard terms change or new regulations are implements that have commercial exposure, you will ensure that cross business training and messaging is delivered, and changes are adopted.
  • Working with the regulatory team, understand the impact of regulatory changes both positive and negative, validating the commercial exposure and implementing a plan to embed the recommendations across the commercial function
  • Input into and challenge of all strategic pricing, propositions, and commercial plans, as the voice of the customer and the voice of our investors., with the goal to becoming commercial flexible, value generating and sustainable.
  • Leading and challenging the commercial function on adoption of ESG strategy in how we function, the services we offer and the partnerships we make. Sustainability on all levels should become a simple and practical adoption that is part of the foundation of what we do.
  • You will support the qualification of strategic plans these may new markets for APFN, new collaborative partnerships or NDA projects working with the M&A team
