About The Role

Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst reporting to the Inventory Manager , to join our dynamic Procurement & Supply Team. In this role you will play a pivotal part to ensure a seamless and economical flow of parts and materials across various systems including SAP and Pulse Mining ERP . The ideal candidate will bring expertise in inventory analysis, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to driving operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement effective inventory planning strategies to meet production and operational requirements.
  • Conduct regular analyses of inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimise stock levels.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team and various site stakeholders to ensure correct inventory levels are maintained in order to support maintenance and production functions.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations and audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Address discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent inventory issues.
  • Explore and implement new technologies to improve inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Work closely with warehouse, production, and procurement teams to coordinate inventory movements and optimise processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the inventory function.
  • Implement best practices and benchmarks for inventory management.

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Proven experience in inventory analysis, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP and familiarity with Pulse Mining or similar industry-specific ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams.
