Senior Electronics Engineer/Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Energy Storage Systems)
Location: Hybrid based at our UK Head Office in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 9HX

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Salary: £55k-£65k pa DOE and qualification level (plus performance bonus scheme)

We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money

As part of our small, integrated R&D team, you'll have the ability to influence the design and implementation of innovative new products. You'll lead the development of electronics components, including power supply, main processor peripherals, sensors, inputs and outputs, etc. and will be responsible for the specifications, design, implementation, and testing of hardware products. You'll also have the satisfaction of seeing a project through from inception to release, so we are looking for someone who can bring a solution-focused, positive approach.

Leading the design and development of power electronics according to the needs of the project.
Performing root cause analysis of hardware defects and implementing solutions.
Working independently and closely with the project team, other teams to engage with colleagues to learn, contribute, brainstorm, converge on technical designs and discussions.
Establish and continuously improve electronics design processes, create and maintain component library.
Mentoring & coaching more junior engineers.

Bachelor’s (or Masters) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics etc. (Proven experience in electronics hardware development, with a focus on high-performance, high-reliability systems from requirements through to testing.
Proficient at electronic circuit design, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
Experience with reliability testing, part qualification and product certification etc.
Understanding of electricity fundamentals (voltage, current, power) as well as electrical technologies like inverters, batteries and solar power.
