GivEnergy is a leading manufacturer of electronic equipment designed to manage energy use and production. We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money

What You’ll Be Doing:

As part of our small, integrated R&D team, you'll have the ability to influence the design and implementation of innovative new products. You'll lead the development of electronics components, including power supply, main processor peripherals, sensors, inputs and outputs, etc. and will be responsible for the specifications, design, implementation, and testing of hardware products. You'll also have the satisfaction of seeing a project through from inception to release, so we are looking for someone who can bring a solution-focused, positive approach.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design and development of power electronics according to the needs of the project.
  • Identifying scope of assigned work and provides a factual initial estimate.
  • Executing in a fast-paced delivery mode, focused on delivering tasks to meet product requirements.
  • Performing root cause analysis of hardware defects and implementing solutions.
  • Working independently and closely with the project team, other teams to engage with colleagues to learn, contribute, brainstorm, converge on technical designs and discussions.
  • Establish and continuously improve electronics design processes, create and maintain component library.
  • Produce documentation to capture all stages of work as per process.
  • Mentoring & coaching more junior engineers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s (or Masters) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics etc. (or similar discipline)
  • Proven experience in electronics hardware development, with a focus on high-performance, high-reliability systems from requirements through to testing.
  • Proficient at electronic circuit design, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Extensive knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and signal integrity.
  • Experience with reliability testing, part qualification and product certification etc.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) techniques.
  • Understanding of electricity fundamentals (voltage, current, power) as well as electrical technologies like inverters, batteries and solar power.
  • Experience with AC/DC converter, Power diodes, IGBT, MOSFET, etc. will be a plus.
